Job Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement robust business development strategies to generate leads, close deals, and achieve revenue targets for shipping and logistics software solutions.
- Lead Generation & Client Acquisition: Proactively generate new leads through cold calling, email campaigns, industry networking, and leveraging existing relationships. Identify and prospect new clients in the shipping, logistics, and supply chain sectors.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within client organizations to drive business growth and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Market Research & Insights: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and business opportunities in the logistics technology space.
- Presentations & Demos: Lead product demonstrations and presentations tailored to prospective clients’ needs, highlighting the value and capabilities of our software solutions.
- Contract Negotiation & Deal Closing: Manage pricing discussions, engage in contract negotiations, and close deals that align with both client requirements and company goals.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with sales, marketing, product, and technical teams to deliver customized solutions that meet clients’ needs.
- Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Provide accurate sales forecasts and regular progress reports, highlighting challenges or risks in achieving sales targets.
- Customer Retention & Upselling: Cultivate ongoing relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and explore opportunities for upselling additional software features or services.
- Networking & Industry Engagement: Attend industry events, conferences, webinars, and networking sessions to enhance the company’s visibility and stay updated on trends in shipping and logistics.
- Pan-India Travel: Travel across India as required by the business to meet clients, attend industry events, and explore new business opportunities, ensuring maximum coverage and business development.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: 8-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the shipping, logistics, or supply chain software sectors.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the shipping, transportation, and logistics industry, with specific knowledge of logistics software solutions such as TMS (Transportation Management Systems), WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), or similar technologies.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets, with a proven ability to close large deals and drive revenue growth.
- Relationship Building: Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence high-level decision-makers.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex software solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Negotiation & Closing Skills: Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals while maintaining a client-centric approach.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Existing Network: An established network within the shipping, logistics, or transportation sectors is a strong asset.
